Accomplishments
I wanted to take a moment to share some significant accomplishments regarding the fire department that I had the privilege of rebuilding in 2021. When I took on this challenge, we had zero paid firefighters and only three active volunteer members. Since then, we have made remarkable progress. Today, we proudly have 17 paid employees and 14 active volunteers dedicated to serving our community. Additionally, I initiated an advanced life support program, which has greatly improved response times for medical emergencies, ensuring our citizens receive faster assistance when they need it most.
I'm also honored to share that I received the First Responder of the Year award in Pointe Coupee Parish and earned three Life Save awards with the Baton Rouge Fire Department. Furthermore, I am an active member of the East Baton Rouge EMS Task Force, where we collaborate to enhance emergency medical services in our area.
One of our other significant achievements includes assisting East Baton Rouge Fire District 9 in lowering their fire rating, which will ultimately benefit the entire community. I was awarded three life saving awards with the BRFD.
