Organizations

The Acadiana Black Nurses Association actively contributes to the community through a variety of impactful initiatives. The organization has gathered donations to stock community fridges throughout the Acadiana region, helping to address food insecurity and support local families. Each year, members participate in The Big Event, a student volunteer effort focused on beautifying Lafayette through litter removal and graffiti cleanup. Additionally, the association engages with New Hope’s after-school program, where members assist children with homework, provide mentorship, and spend meaningful time with them. Through these efforts, they serve as living examples of Black excellence—demonstrating that individuals of African descent continue to rise above stereotypes and thrive in leadership, education, and service.

UL Student Nurses' Association participates in events and initiatives that promote professional development, community service, and peer support within the nursing field. ULSNA gives student the opportunity to collaborate with fellow nursing students, attend educational workshops, and engage in volunteer activities that support both our campus and the surrounding community. This organization has helps students strengthen their leadership skills, stay informed about current healthcare issues, and connect to a network of guest speaking nursing professionals who are equally committed to compassionate, evidence-based care, and teach about the abundant job avenues of the profession.
