Prioritized coding of high dollar and oldest discharges.

· Ability to problem solve & engage independent critical thinking skills with utilization of references such as Coding Clinics, Codebook instructions & ICD-10 Coding Handbook to ensure proper dx code sequencing & final DRG assignment.

· Recommended query clarifications to CDI on accounts reviewed concurrently to enhance coding accuracy.

· Provide education to CDI per above references on accounts with pdx or DRG changes as well as procedures taking surgical hierarchy or procedures driving an account to a surgical DRG.

· Perform coding for inpatient accounts for general & surgical admit cases including Telemetry, Oncology, Neurology, Orthopedic & Oncology.

· Ability to problem solve & engage independent critical thinking skills with utilization of references such as Coding Clinics, Codebook instructions & ICD-10 Coding Handbook to ensure proper dx code sequencing, procedures taking surgical hierarchy & final DRG.

· Monitor bill holds and follow up on any dialogue regarding accounts with pending bill holds.

· Abstracting physicians including admitting, attending, consults, surgeons; abstracting procedures to correct providers & ensuring accurate discharge disposition is applied.

· Extensive Encoder experience having worked with 3M Encoder, Paragon & Citrix. Also, utilize Word & Excel.

· Credentials are current per obtaining all required CEUs via virtual webinars or in person seminars mostly obtained via my active membership with AHIMA.

· Seeks education each new fiscal year to learn of any & all new coding changes & updates.
