I worked here for about a month before going to college. I worked with two of my managers and one cook, so there weren't many people employed at the time. The hours I worked were 7am-3pm. I worked as much as I could and maintained a full time job. I did more than just serving such as preparing drinks, preparing simple add ons to food before bringing it out, made the milkshakes, bused tables and would clean the coffee pots and put them back out for the next day, I'd mop the floors, clean the bathrooms, take out the trash, clean the windows, and woukd re-stock any supplies that was running out (syrup, condiments, fruit, etc.)
I volunteered at the SPCA for about 2-3 years of high school. I completed around 50 hours. When I volunteered, I would feed the animals and make sure they had walks. Basically, if a dog hadn't been walked then I'd walk it.
I used to work at this dog day care for about 2 months where I'd work shifts from 6am-1pm and 1pm-8pm. We did multiple tasks including deep cleaning kennels and cages, feeding and cleaning up after the animals, wiping down the gates to the areas the dogs were kept in, mopping the floors, and maintaining the dogs themselves. It depended, but sometimes one could be looking after the dogs for hours on end. Up to 25 dogs were kept in each yard where there would be one person looking after all of them. Learning all of the dogs' names was also very important in general and if altercations took place.
