  • Transitioning infants from birth to the first few hours of life: placing infants on and weaning infants off blow-by oxygen. Monitoring for up to the first 6 hours of life if infant is struggling to transition, and ultimately knowing when an infant needs higher level of care. Communicating infant status to the on-call nurse practitioner. Communicating with the Neonatal ICU Nurse practitioner if infant needs a higher level of care.
