As a member of the hospital administration team I currently oversee all pharmacy operations. In the past two years, I have worked closely with physicians, fellow administrators, nursing, clinical and non-clinical staff on hospital medication matters.

• Provide pharmacy services to our rural healthcare clinics
• Assure compliance to maintain 340B status. Recent mock inspection showed no deficiencies.
• Designated person for both hazardous drugs and sterile compounding.
• Antimicrobial Stewardship leader for Christus Coushatta
• Generate annual antibiogram and make adjustments to our hospital treatment algorithms in collaboration with our physicians.

• Actively participate in all hospital Codes (Rapid Response, Code Blue, Stroke, STEMI).
• Provide nursing education to all staff for annual skills fair and any topics requested.

• Verify safety and accuracy of physician orders in compliance with hospital formulary using computerized physician order maintenance
• Use Meditech to review records and laboratory results.
• After working in the decentralized surgery pharmacy, I worked closely with the surgical staff to convert to the use of PYXIS when the satellite pharmacy was closed at Schumpert.
• Provided clinical pharmacy services as a decentralized pharmacist in med/surg, ICU, dialysis and nephrology units while at Schumpert.
• Prepare and supervise the preparation of sterile products for inpatients including adults, pediatrics and neonates
• In preparation of combining the Schumpert and Highland campuses, I trained the Highland staff on sterile preparation of pediatric and neonatal doses and order entry processes
• Prior to hiring the PIC, I worked with the Christus Bossier ER Hospital management staff prior to and immediately following opening of the facility.
• Provide pharmacy staffing for the Christus Coushatta and Bossier Emergency Hospital
• Pharmacy representative on the "Fall Team"
• Experience with Pyxis Medstation ES, C-II Safe, and Automix compounder pharmacy systems
• Assure proper dosing based on patient's lab values in line with clinical initiatives.
• Assure that patient drug therapy aligns with hospital formulary
• Trained Highland staff in proper preparation of NICU dosage forms when the Christus hospitals consolidated.
• Worked the 7 on/7 off night shift for a few years and was the pharmacy contact for four hospitals simultaneously: Highland, Bossier Emergency, Rehab and Coushatta

• Dispensed and procured medicinal products and supplies used in hospital.
• Part of the "code team"
• Monitored pharmacokinetic consults
• Provided sterile compounds for inpatients.
• Responded to queries regarding dosages, indications and drug availability.
• Verified safety and accuracy of physician orders.

Provided long-term care facilities with pharmaceutical services.

Provided specialty drug and pharmaceutical services to special populations. Counseling and education provided on proper use of nebulizers, blood glucose monitors and infusion devices.

Provided sterile compounding for home health infusion services.

Served in a PRN position for the pharmacist staff of Brookshire's Pharmacy . I would average about 40 hours a month.

• Verified safe and secure storage of all medicine to minimize loss and accidents.
• Verified safety and accuracy of physician orders.
• Interpreted prescriptions from physicians to properly dispense medications and health products.
• Worked with Medical Information Systems to implement a new hospital-wide integrated computer system. Trained pharmacy personnel on proper use of system and continued to work with MIS post-production of the system to insure proper use and billing.
• Provided sterile compounds to inpatients including IVPB and TPNs.
• Note : I left my full time position in July of 1998, but continued as a PRN staff member.

• Note: The pharmacy was bought out by Pharmerica shortly after my hire and moved out of state where most of the facilities were located. I was offered, but turned down the opportunity to relocate.

• Recommended OTC devices or medication options to help mitigate individual symptoms.
