Research Experience

  • Assisted in the writing and submitting of an abstract with Dr. Connie Shao M.D. for Digestive Disease Weekly (May 2-6 2026) (Not yet published). This involved two retrospective cohort studies. The first studied adults undergoing colonoscopy within the Ochsner medical system, utilizing billing data to help compare demographics and NIH NCI State Cancer Profile for Louisiana determine late-stage CRC rates at a parish level. The second utilized the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database to compare patients who underwent colectomy or proctectomy for colorectal cancer at Ochsner Health. The goal being to highlight factors that influence risk of colon cancer as well as highlight the need for rural outreach given the markedly higher colorectal cancer incidence.

Hobbies and Interests
