  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to navigate and provide continuity of care to patients through treatment, care settings, and follow up.
  • Manage high risk, complex patients by working closely with physicians to coordinate patient’s care plan in clinic, through the surgical process, and after discharge with the goal of minimizing readmission.
  • 2-week post op appointments see the RN for wound check, ensure proper use of braces, assess pain control, use of proper body mechanics, and return to work if applicable.
  • Launched 2-week post op virtual visit with nurses in 2019.
  • Rebuilt the orientation process with the clinic manager to standardize education starting with ethics/professional standards, anatomy & pathophysiology, and assessment lectures (Neurosurgery specific) as well as precept and mentor new hires to the clinic.
  • Act as interim nursing supervisor and manager as needed. Currently approve time cards in Kronos, construct weekly staffing schedule for entire practice, oversee clinic operations, open physician assistant schedule templates monthly, and modify physician templates as needed for open and closures, added clinics, etc.
