Work History

Corrections Asst. Warden

Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women

I began my career as a correctional officer at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women. I was responsible for maintaining custody and control of female adult offenders by enforcement of the rules by written policies, and procedures. Over the years, and through hard work and diligence I moved through the chain of command from officer to Asst. Warden. I received several awards such as distinguished service, exemplary service, and many perfect attendances, and many others. Although challenging sometimes my time in corrections taught me leadership skills, and perseverance. I supervised as many as 40+ officers while serving as the shift supervisor. I learned conflict resolution, as well as patience, and sound workmanship.
